We are seeking an ambitious postdoctoral fellow with great team-working and communication skills, who has a background in either vascular biology (preferably small vessel diseases/CADASIL), and/or neurodegenerative diseases. The successful applicant should have extensive experience and practical skills from research animal work, immunohistochemistry and regular protein and RNA analysis methods such as western blot, qPCR, ELISA, MSD and cell-and molecular biology techniques. Furthermore, it is a merit if the applicant has knowledge in Bioinformatic tools such as in R coding language, and data processing using different package such as the Seurat package, ClusterProfiler, Monocle3. Good ability to speak and write English is a requirement. A strong scientific drive is expected, documented with a publication record.

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in bioinformatics to join a a research team dedicated to understand the function of 3D epigenome folding in relation to the nuclear architecture and its deregulation in human diseases. The candidate is expected to drive a postdoctoral project and participate in collaborative efforts to uncover hitherto unknown therapeutic targets in complex diseases, such as cancer. The work will be carried out at the department of Oncology and Pathology in the lab of Anita Göndör. We have innovated state-of-the-art techniques enabling the analysis of 3D chromatin structures and chromatin fibre networks in single cells and small cell populations to provide unique opportunities for novel discoveries. In addition, we have developed assay systems to score for genome wide analyses of gene trafficking and the involved regulators using siRNA libraries.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a post-doctoral fellowship dedicated to explore the synergisms between the epigenome and the 3-dimensional nuclear architecture to effectuate oncogene expression from new perspectives. The successful applicants are expected to drive a postdoctoral project in the lab of Anita Göndör at the department of Oncology and Pathology, as well as to participate in collaborative efforts with both national and international collaborative labs with a focus on breast and colon cancer. Our lab is well-equipped including a Mi-seq machine and a 5-color confocal microscope, and located within the Theme Cancer section of BioClinicum at Karolinska Institutet.

You will be responsible for adding data to, and extracting data from, our proprietary database focused on breast cancer clinical outcomes and radiology images. You will perform statistical analyses to understand the performance and limitations of various AI algorithms. You are expected to write original research papers, and to produce written test reports to the parties providing the AI algorithms to us. We also encourage you to refine and improve the evaluation methodology we have established. You will be involved in interactions with both commercial and academic counterparts in Sweden and other countries.

The available postdoctoral position concerns developing and applying novel genomic approaches to study eukaryotic gene expression at an unprecedented scale combining experimental and computational approaches. The candidate will work in the context of a recently awarded ERC synergy project (EPIC – Unraveling the eukaryotic post-transcriptional regulatory code) in collaboration with the labs of Prof. Kevin Verstrepen (Leuven) and Prof. Julien Gagneur (Munich). EPIC will combine the use of genomic, synthetic biology, machine learning and evolutionary approaches with the aim to understand the complete gene expression regulatory code of S. cerevisiae and other eukaryotes. The recruited candidate will focus on mapping and prediction mRNA boundaries at an unprecedented scale. The candidate will also use the generated information to quantify and predict how mRNA variations lead to divergent mRNA fates.

The candidate will integrate different experimental and computational approaches for the completion of the project, including genomics, yeast genetics, high-throughput biology approaches and bioinformatics. The candidate will perform original research in transcriptomics and computational biology, and acquire the required experimental and computational skills necessary for the completion of the project. The candidate is expected to communicate the scientific results by writing up scientific papers and attending scientific meetings. The ideal candidate will participate in the general duties of the team and effectively communicate with scientists of very diverse backgrounds in a highly interdisciplinary and international environment. Working language is English.

The successful candidate has previous well-documented research experience of working with advanced behavioral analyses, eye tracking, EEG analyses, machine learning, or other advanced experimental electrophysiology or related research experiences. We are looking for one talented and highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with an interest to work with multi-tracer in vivo PET study, measuring  different pathological markers including beta amyloid and tau deposition, astrogliosis, synapse function and impairment, combined with cognitive tests, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma biomarkers and MRI. We expect the applicant to take an active role in applying advanced imaging methods for processing and evaluating PET, MRI imaging data, performing statistical analyses, and preparing scientific manuscripts under supervision. Detta projekt fokuserar på att förstå mekanismerna bakom hur hantavirusinfektion leder till patogenes hos vissa patienter men inte hos andra patienter eller i deras egentliga värddjur. We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented postdoctoral researcher for a two year scholarship with a background in neuroscience and with interest in mitochondrial biology. The successful candidate must have documented experience in high-resolution fluorescence imaging and training in imaging analysis softwares such as ImageJ and Imaris. The project aims to understand the role of sensorimotor circuits for whole-body motor behavior in mice. The successful candidate should show a high level of responsibility and independency, be able to collaborate with others in a team, and possess good English communication skills. We are seeking candidates with documented experience in surgery, animal behavior, virus injections, and electrophysiology. As a postdoctoral Researcher in Mikael Björnstedt’s research group, you will study selenium compounds as cancer therapy. Within our research area, translational and clinical studies are conducted focusing on redox-active selenium compounds as chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer. Main areas of interest are clinical studies to study the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, safety and efficacy of selenium compounds in the treatment of cancer. Mechanistic studies to study the effect of selenium compounds and how improvement can occur through a combination of treatments as well as studies focused on drug action and how selenium compounds exert their cytotoxic action.

I rollen som postdoktor kommer du att arbeta i flera projekt med inriktning på arbetsmiljö och hälsa med en genusteoretisk utgångspunkt. Framför allt kommer du att arbeta i en studie med kvalitativ ansats som syftar till att undersöka, utifrån ett genusperspektiv, personliga assistenters och deras arbetsgivares upplevelser av underlättande och hindrande faktorer för återgång i arbete efter sjukskrivning på grund av psykisk ohälsa.
