What is Celsius scale ?
The Celsius scale, sometimes known as the centigrade scale, is a temperature scale based on water’s freezing point of 0°C and boiling point of 100°C.
- In 1742 A.D., Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius introduced the scale, which was also named after him.
- The sign for this scale is °C. The Celsius scale originally utilised 0°C for the boiling point of water and 100°C for the melting point of ice, but it was eventually inverted to its current form.
- The lower fixed point is 0°C, and the upper fixed point is 100°C, according to this scale.
- The temperature range between these two points is divided into 100 equal pieces, each of which is one degree Celsius (1°C).
- The freezing point of water is 0°C in the inverted version of the Celsius scale, and the boiling point of water is 100°C.
- However, a current Celsius scale based on the triple point of Vienna Standard Mean ocean water has been established, which has improved with the concept of absolute zero.
- According to this, the present Celsius scale is based on the triple point of water rather than the freezing and boiling points of water.
- After May 2019, the absolute zero temperature, or -273.15°C, will be indicated by 0K or -273.15°C.
- However, before that, the temperature of water’s triple point was precisely defined at 273.16 K or 0.01 °C.
- The average human body temperature is 37 degrees Celsius on the Celsius scale.

What is Fahrenheit scale?
The Fahrenheit scale is based on the freezing point of water being 32°F and the boiling point of water being 212°F.
- In 1720 A.D., physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the scale, which was also named after him. The sign for this scale is °F.
- The temperature of a brine solution with an equal amount of ice, water, and salt is the lowest defining point on the Fahrenheit scale (ammonium chloride).
- The average human body temperature was first set at 96°F, but was later raised to 98.6°F.

- In the Fahrenheit scale, absolute zero is -459.67° F.
- The Fahrenheit scale was the world’s first standardised temperature scale. Until the 1960s, it was common in most English-speaking countries.

So the temperature in Celsius is 26.7 C.
